Hi, my name is Liam Alexander, and I am a sophomore at Ridgewood High School.
I am passionate about helping students build confidence and succeed academically by
sharing the strategies and study habits that have helped me in my own classes.
At RHS, I currently take a rigorous course load that includes AP Precalculus, AP U.S. History,
AP Computer Science Principles, Latin III Honors, and several other honors-level courses. I am
also involved in the Principal’s Advisory Council, Class of 2028 Student Government, and DECA, where
I recently earned 2nd place in New Jersey and qualified for the national competition. Additionally,
I earned a perfect 36 on the ACT.
Outside of academics, I am a member of the varsity tennis
and the soccer team. Through my previous tutoring experience, I have aided in math, biology, and ACT preparation,
helping students strengthen their understanding, improve their skills, and gain confidence
in the classroom.

-AP Precalculus, Latin III Honors
Hi my name is Jonathan Schildkraut, and I am a 10th grader at Ridgewood High School. Outside of the classroom I am on the RHS basketball and lacrosse teams. I am also involved in many academic clubs such as DECA, the Latin Competition team, and student government. Additionally, I babysit several families around my neighborhood and I am soon to be a counselor in training at the sleepaway camp I’ve attended for the past 8 summers. In school I’m taking advanced classes including AP PreCalc and Latin III honors. I would be a helpful tutor in both of those subjects. I am passionate about helping younger kids in my community grow as learners.

After filling out the "book session" form, a Maroon Tutors representative will email you a confirmation note. In this email, it will include an option to pay via online payment. If you prefer to pay with cash, and the tutoring session is in-person please let us know and bring the listed amount of cash to the tutor AT THE BEGINNING of the session.
If you would like to set a schedule with regularly-occuring tutoring sessions, please contact us via our email (maroon.tutors@gmail.com). Additionaly, feel free to discuss setting up the schedule with your tutor by replying to the confirmation email they send out before the session.
Maroon Tutors provides high-quality tutoring in a wide range of subjects, including math, science, SAT/ACT prep, and more. No matter the subject, students are guaranteed to work with tutors who know how to explain concepts clearly and help them succeed.
Whether it’s the SAT or ACT, Maroon Tutors offers guidance from top-scoring students with firsthand testing experience. We begin with diagnostic practice exams to identify strengths and areas for improvement, then help students decide which test best fits their skills. From there, tutors work closely with students on key content, pacing, and test-taking strategies to build confidence and strong preparation.
Unlike many other tutoring companies, the tutor selection process is completely in your hands. On our website and social media pages, you can browse our team of experienced, high-achieving tutors and choose the one you think is the best fit for you. If you would rather get matched as quickly as possible or have us recommend a tutor based on your needs, we offer those options as well.
Maroon Tutors was founded by a group of high-achieving, dedicated Ridgewood High School
students who are passionate about using their knowledge and experience to help
others in the community succeed. The company is completely student-owned and
student-run, and each of our tutors is prepared to provide thoughtful,
personalized support.
Maroon Tutors is built around a unique tutoring model. Rather than randomly
assigning tutors to students, we allow students to choose the tutor they feel
is the best fit for them, creating stronger connections and a more personalized
learning experience. Students also have the flexibility to switch tutors if they
would like. For those who need immediate help — such as before an upcoming test
— we can quickly pair them with the next available tutor.
Beyond our local tutoring services, we also work with underprivileged students
in communities near Ridgewood by providing free tutoring and academic support.
We also aim to make a long-term impact. A portion of every paid tutoring session
goes into a company-managed investment portfolio, and each year, the funds raised
are used to provide scholarships for the underprivileged students we tutor, helping
support their future educational goals.
